Our second stop after leaving Creel Chihuahua heading for Batopilas at the bottom of the Copper Canyon was the Mushroom Valley.
The Tarahumara were set up and selling their handi-crafts.
Valley of the Mushrooms/Valle de Hongos located in Parque Natural Barrancas del Cobre, is named for a group of colossal mushroom-shaped rocks found here. The rock formations where sculpted by erosion of the volcanic and sedimentary rock layers, producing some intriguing and precariously balanced rocks.
Some are mushroom shaped hence the name and a few look like frogs.
